MODEL PORTFOLIO SESSION WITH NINA VU MATLOCK
Nina Vu Matlock is a professional commercial model whose career started in Tampa Bay, Florida. Today, she is based in Los Angeles, California, and has done work for Disney, Chick-Fil-a, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, and many more.
We’ve known Nina for quite a while, having worked with her on several local campaigns. We’ve always been impressed with her tenacity and dedication to improving her craft.
This year, she set her sights on getting representation in California (which she was successful at) and New York so we set up a date for a model portfolio session.
THE TASK
Nina was aiming to get representation in New York and the agency requested to see commercial images with a lifestyle feel. But Nina didn’t want cookie-cutter lifestyle images, she wanted to standout so she opted for our signature vibrant, colorful backgrounds.
THE SHOOT
We did a total of 6 layouts on 3 different colored backgrounds. Nina wanted to showcase that she is capable of doing Beauty, Music, Corporate, Sports, and Swimsuit campaigns with her own special flair.
THE TIME
This was a total of 2.5 hours of shoot involving 5 different outfits. Check out the rest of our snaps of Nina!
Just a couple of weeks after we shot these images, Nina told us that she managed to get representation from not just one but TWO agencies in New York and Utah! We were so happy to be part of her journey, and it made us realize the impact great images can have on a model’s career.
